Post April weather history for Live Oak, FL
Average rainfall for the month is 3.5" and I can tell you that we did not come prepared for the cold nights in 2007 and froze our butts off. It hit the low 40's so make sure you have some backup stay warm gear.

Good info thanks. Lulu, and I busted out all out tents today to make sure they where all in working order, and to practice setting up camp, so we can get to the festivities asap.

Warning: depressing festival anecdote below

That was such a fail last year. It was a bad idea to move it to June. The Brothers seemed dampened by the weather, as they plodded through a heartbreakingly lifeless "Ain't Wastin' Time No More". Jaimoe messed up numerous parts and at one point just stopped playing altogether. Greg changed the phrase "war freaks" to "terrorists", an especially lame, git-er-done, close-minded kinda thing to say in 2009. At the end of that line, which he mumbled without much conviction, Warren missed that critical first note of the slide solo.

In 7 times seeing them I'd never heard them play that song, one of my favorites, one that has gotten me through some real hard times, so it was disappointing. I looked over and saw a bunch of hippies huddled under a Budweiser tent in the rain, near a big plastic sign that said "Budweiser Welcomes You To The Wanee Music Festival". It was sad. For the first time ever, me and my buddy went back to the campsite before the set ended. Sitting under a tarp with the rain coming down, the notes of Little Martha came to me through the trees as the worst Allmans show I had ever seen drew to a close.

Here's to hoping the weather and the Brothers are on this year.

Wow I didn't feel that way at all. Friday's show was mediocre I agree but Saturday's show was awesome! The rain wasn't fun but didn't ruin the festy for me. I enjoyed myself immensely at Wanee last year. But this year is gonna be even better!!!!! :P

They have absolute killed every other time I've been to Wanee so I'm not too worried...those boys could hardly really do wrong in my eyes or ears anyhow.

I once broke a good girl's heart because she couldn't fill the shoes of the woman before her, the one that got away. My dad was talking to me about that choice, the choice to love or not love what you've got in front of you. He got tears in his eyes as he talked about the story of the Velveteen Rabbit, how that little boy just loved that thing to death even though it was falling apart. He said "You gotta love what you've got. It's your own love that makes something special to you". Amen, pop. Maybe that's the lesson here too, Treehugger.

I dind't see it that either, it was just little water! Me and my bud left early the 1st night too, BUT we went to the Mushroom stage and got front row for dTb. The 2nd night we rock with ABB about 5 rows back. I won't let a little rain dampin' my Wanee experience :!: 8-) :D

Wow DG that's a great story and a good lesson for sure. Thanks for sharing.

All in all I didn't think the rain ruined anything except for Jorma's performance and thats because I had the wrong jacket on,I had grabbed the wind breaker instead of the rain jacket,I was worried it would be way to hot and the rain took care of that

THIS YEAR MAY BE ARE LAST CHANCE TO SEE THE ABB
